3300 MISSION STREET AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT
•Upon completion, the six-story building will feature 35 studio apartments serving low-income individuals and small households earning between 30-80% of the area median income (AMI).
• 3300 Mission Street is a joint venture partnership between three Black-led organizations - Bernal Heights Housing Corporation (BHHC, the development affiliate of the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center), Tabernacle Community Development Corporation (TCDC), and Mitchelville Real Estate Group (MREG).
• Supported by the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development’s capacity-building programs for emerging developers, the partnership draws upon MREG’s extensive affordable housing development experience along with BHHC and TCDC’s deep ties to the community.
• As noted by San Francisco Mayor London Breed, “The Mission Bernal corridor is home to a diverse and vibrant community, and the development of 3300 Mission Street is a big step forward in our work to deliver housing for low-income residents allowing them to stay in the neighborhood they call home.”
•With a development cost of $37MM and 20 months construction, “3300 Mission Street will be one of few 100% affordable housing developments built in Bernal Heights in the past 20 years," said Gina Dacus, Executive Director of Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center. "We believe everyone deserves a place to call home, and we are proud that 3300 Mission Street will help residents remain in San Francisco by providing more affordable housing. This project prioritizes the needs of future residents and the existing Bernal Heights community, which is why we have worked alongside our neighbors and business partners to bring the vision to life."
• "3300 Mission Street embodies our motto, ‘Seeking the Welfare of the City’,” said Todd Clayter, Senior Project Manager of Tabernacle Community Development Corporation. "Partnering with the like-minded affordable housing organizations that comprise our team strengthens our individual capacity and the best interests of the communities we serve by promoting and ensuring the sustainability of housing for working people in San Francisco."
